Ruby on Matrix from the Jadgaleek Area of Afghanistan

Ruby specimens in general are hard to come by as they are a rare gemstone, compounded by the rare occurrence of terminated crystals still found in the host rock. This piece is beautiful in color and formation and is quite sizable, I would estimated the main crystal to be at least 10 grams. A wonderful small cabinet piece.
